Ian Watts, is an English qualified barrister. He read law at the University of Nottingham before attending the Bar Vocational Court at the former Inns of Court School of Law in London.

A member of The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in London, Ian Watts was called to the Bar of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2001 – then, in 2002 he was called to the Gibraltar Bar.

By virtue of being called to the Gibraltar Bar – Gibraltar’s legal profession be essentially “fused” (as is the case, for example, in the Commonwealth of Australia), counsel is entitled to practise as

both a barrister as well as an acting solicitor of the Supreme Court of Gibraltar. Ian Watts has practised as both a barrister and acting solicitor in Gibraltar since 2002.
